Computer Film "Geometric Interpretation of Magnetic Field Calculations Results in Electromechanical Facilities"

In electrical machines and transformers magnetic field is a "working body". Therefore numerical modeling of magnetic fields on the basis of Maxwell's field theory and computer technologies contributes to a deep studying of the physical processes occuring in these devices.
The programs of calculation of fixed and alternative magnetic field which take into account the non-linearity of environment, an actual facilities geometry and realize the method of finite elements are developed. Results of calculation are large arrays of figures, the whole of which correctly reflects reality. However such presentation of the results is not visual and moreover their physical comprehension is difficult.
The purpose of this film is to present graphically the results of calculation of fixed and alternative magnetic field, to illustrate those particular results may be achieved by the calculation of the magnetic field in electromechanical facilities. Their practical significance is demonstrated also.
During the film the following are constructed on the computer display: lines of force of the magnetic field, 3D spatial surfaces representing magnetic induction and tension distribution in calculation region, relative permeability, vector magnetic potential. Graphics of mentioned quantities time dependencies, harmonic analysis results representing histograms are drawn too.
The film is intended for specialists in electrical machines, for those who wish to improve their qualification and for students of electrotechnical courses.
This computer film is adopted by Association of Designers and Users of Computer Training Programs (certificate #3/93).
The film is demonstrated in Internet.
It is possible to look through film fragments separately or the whole film at once. (file film.html). An automatic frame changing with time exposure is realized.
The proposed computer film is demonstrated in studies on Informatics and Numerical Methods in Electromechanics.
